Festa dell'Uva Comes to Atlanta: Why Fall Is Georgia's Italian Season

Every September, all over Italy, small towns throw a party for the grape harvest called Festa dell'Uva — Festival of the Grape. Streets get strung with lights, wine flows out of barrels straight into cups, and everybody eats too much. I grew up around versions of this. It's not fancy. It's just good.

This year, a little piece of it is landing in Atlanta.

A Grape Harvest Festival, Buckhead Style

Pricci, the Italian restaurant on the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group roster, is hosting its own Festa dell'Uva on Sunday, September 27, 2026. It's built as a cocktail-style evening — live entertainment, Italian wines and spirits, and food stations pulling from all over Italy. Capacity is intentionally limited to keep it intimate, and as of this writing the restaurant lists it as "save the date, menu and reservations coming soon." If you want in, keep an eye on Pricci's event page directly for the exact reservation window — details like this tend to move fast once they open up.

It's a nice reminder that Atlanta's Italian food scene isn't just red-sauce spots and chain trattorias anymore. There's real appetite here for the harvest-festival, community-table version of Italian culture — the version that's less about a tasting menu and more about standing around with a glass in your hand, laughing too loud, eating something that just came off live fire.

That's the same energy I try to bring to every wedding and corporate event we cater. It's not a coincidence Festa dell'Uva translates so well outside Italy — that kind of gathering just works.

Why September and October Are Peak Italian-Event Season in Georgia

Timing isn't an accident either. Late September through October is when Georgia finally cools off enough to stand comfortably next to a 900°F wood-fired oven, and it's also grape harvest season back in Italy — so restaurants and event planners everywhere lean into it at the same time. If you've been eyeing an outdoor wedding, a rehearsal dinner, or a corporate fall kickoff with an Italian theme, this six-to-eight week window is genuinely the best stretch of the year to book it. Venues fill up early for exactly this reason, so if fall 2026 is on your radar, now's the time to start locking down vendors, not November.

What Festa dell'Uva Actually Is (And Why It's Worth Knowing)

If you're planning any kind of Italian-themed event — wedding, corporate mixer, milestone birthday — Festa dell'Uva is worth knowing about even if you can't make it to Pricci's evening. It's a template. Grapes, wine, live food, live music, people standing close together instead of seated in rows. It's the opposite of a stiff plated dinner, and it's exactly the kind of atmosphere that translates beautifully to a private event with a food truck at the center of it instead of a restaurant kitchen.

That's the whole idea behind what we do. The Piaggio Ape rolls in, the oven gets to temperature, and pizza comes out about 90 seconds after it goes in — cooked live, in front of your guests, the same way it would be at a festival in Naples or a piazza during harvest season. No buffet line standing between people and the food. No mystery about what's happening in the kitchen, because there is no kitchen — just fire, dough, and whoever's standing closest getting the first slice.

Can't Make It to Pricci? Bring the Experience to You

Not everyone can grab one of the limited spots at a Buckhead restaurant event on a Sunday night in September. But you can build your own version of it — for a wedding reception, a company party, a milestone birthday, a rehearsal dinner. We've been the first AVPN-certified Neapolitan pizza food truck in the world since 2021, and we bring that live-fire, straight-from-Naples experience to weddings and corporate events all across Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee.

If a September or October date is on your mind, reach out now. Fall books up fast, and I'd rather help you lock in a date than tell you we're full.
